TEI Stand-Off Markup WG 2003-07-25 Conference Call Notes
Initials Used for People
- SB Syd Bauman
- DD David G. Durand
- JH Jessica Hekman
Commenced ~13:06 with DD, JH, SB.
Attendance quite disappointing.
-
xmllint does XInclude DD agrees that we
should probably give a sample DTD fragment for
<xi:include>
that better matches the specification
of the element. Wants more info on what multiple
<xi:fallback>
s mean.Action 1: SB figure out and report to list what multiple <xi:fallback> elements mean 2003-07-28
- Will xpointer() scheme be out the door DD has not done official check, but does not expect it will be anytime soon. We will have an implementation of the draft ala FV, though.
- href v. xptr Not enough folks to vote on it, but we need to decide the name of this. Basically we agree that xptr is better in principle (it's more correct), and that href is easier to use, and thus is likely to be better accepted, i.e. good for PR reasons. We can write sections using either or a dummy (duck), noting that the strings href and xptr occur in other contexts in TEI, so using a dummy would make changing later easier.
-
xml catalogs JH has posted some info on
this. Both xmllint and xsltproc support 'em. Action 2: DD send a letter to editors recommending that gentle intro include discussion of catalogs 2003-07-28Note that the counter-argument that gentle intro includes only that which TEI user needs is anticipated, but only partially convincing.
