Contents

Commenced 16:10 BDT w/ DD, SB, HC, CC.

introductions

Briefly performed. Someone (CC?) suggested we each send a homepage URL to the list.

Action 1: All send URL to homepage (or brief bio, I suppose) to the list (mailto:tei-som@listserv.brown.edu).

procedures

list

Nothing mentioned.

[scheduled conference] call

DD recommends every other or 3rd week; SB recommends every other due to tight schedule; no objections.

DD reports Wed not good for at least 2 people. Will try to agree to new day & time over list.

rules of order

DD (following his experience w/ W3C workgroup conference calls) suggests we can be pretty loose unless serious controvorsy develops; chair facilitates parties speaking in an orderly fashion.

Action 2: DD Write up and post to list brief rules of order for calls.

time limit

DD believes calls should be < 60 mins, > 30 mins. All agreed.

reactions to charge

Group suggested to DD that we all want charge annotated w/ pointers to what to read. DD agreed.

Action 3: DD Add pointers to guidelines and other standards to charter as annotation.

Review of charter. [Note: for #2, I think we need to keep extended pointers in P4 — Syd]

Action 4: HC post brief list of pointers to info on how those doing linguistics and annotation (perhaps speech) are currently doing SOM, linking, etc.

Action 5: CC Assemble some reading material (URLs) for group to read on multimedia standards.

coverage of topics/applications

[Note: Does the above stuff belong here? — Syd]

deliverables

[Note: I don't believe we discussed them; probably should have — Syd]

other

future calls

We need to establish a consistent time for conference calls. Currently we are only dealing with EDT and BDT time zones.

Action 6: All Send time constraints on future conference calls to list.

notes

Action 7: SB Send these notes to list 2002-06-27

access to P4

I don't recall when this occured chronologically, but CC and HC both need access to the Guidelines: (aka P4). SB points out they are available to the public on the web [Note: http://www.tei-c.org/P4X/ ]. The PDF version is not available to the public, but rather only to TEI Consortium members, if its up on the web yet at all.

Action 8: SB check availability of PDF version of P4

DD noted that anyone who wants access to printed copy of P4 should speak up. Not sure whether the cost [Note: 60 USD for members; 90 USD for non-members] would be borne from the WG budget or the TEI itself, but either way WG members should be able to get a copy.
