M. Sperberg-McQueen" Steering Committee and Editors: A slightly more explanatory version of the agenda follows. I sent the original yesterday just to get something out before the weekend. I suspect we will spend most of our time on item 3, so have kept the rest of the agenda brief and added a few items at the end that can be omitted. Again, you are asked to add to this if you see things we must/should discuss next week. (Lou, I forgot to send you the original agenda, sorry. It was just like this one but with less explanation, so you missed nothing.) Nancy ========================================================================== Tentative agenda for meetings of the Steering Committee and Editors of the TEI, February 17 and 20, 1989, Chicago. 1. Final discussion of the AB meeting, its format and content 2. The Syntax document: a summary of the debate and issues within the syntax committee, and discussion; also, if necessary, determination of what will be outlined to the Advisory Board concerning the syntax used by the guidelines. 3. Naming of committee members. List of nominees appended. At the meeting I will distribute what I have of descriptions of people's qualifications to all of you. I will also attempt to organize lists of nominees, ranked where rankings have been provided, as well as others who have volunteered or been suggested to serve on a sub-committee. All with addresses where possible. This, in prepration for our deliberations concerning committee membership and assembling files to give to the committee heads, indicating names and addresses of all who have been named to committees and who may serve on sub-committees. 4. IEEE as Advisory Board member. Michael mentioned that this should be considered. 5. Funding. I have been working on the foundation funding. I would like to summarize what I have done so far and what I have found out about strategy in working with Vassar's Development Office. Also, report from Don on industrial funding and the ongoing update from Antonio on the status of European funding. 6. Publicity. We must do some more in this area. I think it would be worth- while to set up some specific places we would like to target and some people to work on them. _____________________________________________________________________________ Only ACH and ACL nominees are ranked as of now.
