TEI Meta-Workshop 12-16 December 1994 The Text Encoding Initiative announces a TEI 'meta-workshop' to be held in Chicago, 12-16 December 1994 (Monday-Friday), to give participants intensive training in the teaching of TEI workshops. N.B. this is not a workshop for training users of the TEI Guidelines, but a 'meta' workshop --- a workshop for training workshop leaders. Participants should have extensive experience using computers for textual research, and in the ideal case will already be substantially familiar with SGML and the TEI Guidelines. Attendees must be willing to teach or help teach one or more multi-day TEI workshop during the next two years, if needed, or to act as a TEI-assigned consultant to outside projects (funding permitting). Those interested in participating should send a note to the editors, describing their background in general, and in particular their technical and SGML experience. The workshop is open to both academic and non-academic participants; all will be evaluated on the same basis. Funding is available to subsidize travel costs for a limited number of participants; other participants will be responsible for their own travel and lodging costs. Please indicate whether you can assume your own costs, or will need a full or partial subsidy to attend.
