in spoken texts, including but not limited to those working in:
- corpus linguistics
- natural-language recognition
- socio-linguistics
- language acquisition and development
- phonology
- anthropology and ethnology
- rhetoric, speech, drama, journalism
- Survey and report on existing practices and any existing
standards for encoding which may exist in the above fields.
- Propose work groups, specifying their work plans and
approximate timetables, to address the task of drafting
recommendations for the encoding and interchange of spoken
